Should you feel guilty for practicing self-care? NO!

Do you ever feel guilty for practicing self-care? ALWAYS!

I think it will take me the rest of my life to learn to stop feeling guilty for putting myself before others, but an often repeated airline safety tip helps remind me of the importance of self-care.

Put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others.

Do you know why? It’s because even if you have the best intentions, if you lose oxygen and pass out, you’re useless to everyone else. Think about that in a less dire circumstance: if you’re hungry because you worked through lunch, your HANGER is going to negatively effect all of your afternoon work.

Besides eating lunch (and more importantly, find time to take a break each day), here are some self-care ideas I found via Pinterest.

Seriously, the second idea is to take a bath or shower — don’t feel guilty for not being a stinker!
